The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) 2020 Annual Report. This report presents national- and state-level data from the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) for admissions and discharges occurring in 2020, and trend data from 2010 to 2020. It summarizes demographic information and the characteristics and outcomes of treatment for alcohol and/or drug use among clients aged 12 years and older in facilities that report to individual state administrative data systems. Data include records for treatment admissions and discharges that were received and processed through November 22, 2021.

The Quick Statistics tool provides state profiles for TEDS, National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services, and National Mental Health Services Survey data. The TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities.

The TEDS is a national data system of annual admissions to and discharges from substance abuse treatment facilities. The N-SSATS is an annual survey of facilities providing substance abuse treatment. The N-MHSS is an annual survey of facilities providing mental health treatment.
Preliminary Findings from Drug-Related Emergency Department Visits, 2021. An analysis of 2021 preliminary data presents (1) nationally representative weighted estimates for the top five drugs in drug-related ED visits, (2) the assessment of monthly trends and drugs involved in polysubstance ED visits in a subset of sentinel hospitals, and (3) the identification of drugs new to DAWN’s Drug Reference Vocabulary.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is pleased to announce the release of the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) 2019-2020 State Data Tables and Reports. The combined 2019 and 2020 NSDUH reports provide state estimates for select measures of substance use and mental health outcomes by age group (e.g., aged 12 or older, 12 to 17, 18 to 25, and 26 or older and 12 to 20 for alcohol measures). NSDUH is an annual survey of the U.S. civilian, noninstitutionalized population aged 12 years or older.
