SAMHSA Releases N-SSATS 2019 State Profiles

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) 2019 State Profiles. These state profiles include data from facilities that reported to N-SSATS for the survey reference date March 29, 2019. The N-SSATS collects data on the location, characteristics, services offered, and number of clients (collected every other year) in treatment at alcohol and drug abuse treatment facilities (public and private) throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and other jurisdictions.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the National Mental Health Services Survey (M-MHSS) 2019 State Profiles. These state profiles include data from facilities that reported to N-MHSS for the survey reference date April 30, 2019. The N-MHSS collects data on the location, characteristics, services offered, and number of clients (collected every other year) in treatment at mental health treatment facilities (public and private) throughout the 50 states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and other jurisdictions.

SAMHSA Releases MH-CLD 2018 Annual Report

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration today announced the release of the Mental Health Client-Level Data (MH-CLD) 2018 Annual Report. This report presents results from MH-CLD and Mental Health Treatment Episode Data Set for individuals receiving mental health services from state mental health systems in 2018, as well as selected trends in data collected from such individuals between 2013 and 2018. The report provides information on mental health diagnoses, mental health treatment settings, and demographic and substance use characteristics of individuals in mental health treatment in facilities that reported to individual state administrative data systems.

SAMHSA Releases New NSDUH 2019 Annual Report and Detailed Tables

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is pleased to announce the release of the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) 2019 Annual Report. This report includes narratives and detailed tables that present estimates from the 2019 NSDUH. The 2019 NSDUH Detailed Tables provide national estimates of substance use and mental health for that year. The 2019 Methodological Summary and Definitions report reviews 2019 NSDUH methods used for generating estimates of substance use and mental health issues. In addition, view the webcast slides (PDF | PPT) and recording presented by Dr. Elinore F. McCance-Katz for findings and insights pertinent to the annual report.

The National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (N-SSATS) 2019 public-use files are available on the Public-use Data Analysis System site. The N-SSATS is an annual census designed to collect information from all facilities within the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories, both public and private, that provide substance abuse treatment. The N-SSATS provides the mechanism for quantifying the dynamic character and composition of the U.S. substance abuse treatment delivery system.
